Canon EOS Rebel T1i

Design

The Canon EOS Rebel T1i is a lightweight camera with a firm grip, considering the number of features packed into its moderately-built chassis. Its light weight makes it a pleasure to carry it around and this alone is enough to have photography fans hankering for it as a second camera. Its rubber grip and slightly smaller frame as compared to its predecessors easily make it one of the most comfortable DSLRs to hold.

Probably the most visible differences between the Canon EOS Rebel T1i’s body as compared to the Canon EOS Rebel XSi, are the four mall holes for the new microphone, new, classy-looking top dial and finally, a video camera icon on the dial. Also, the CA (Creative Auto) mode, designed to provide amateur photographers with easy control over camera settings, is now located conveniently on the rear LCD. The Canon EOS Rebel T1i’s operating buttons are positioned conveniently all over the camera and Canon fans will have no trouble getting acquainted with this model.

The only dent in the almost complete beauty of the Canon EOS Rebel T1i, would still be the lack of a top LCD and additional features found on the higher-end models. Otherwise, this camera, released early 2009, can only be described as top notch.

Features

Take the 15.1 mega pixel lens sensor for one. There is so much you can get out of this resolution, and when working together with a DIGIC 4-processor, you are able to get natural color production and also accurate colors. You will be able to see this in the pictures that you take. The 18-55 millimeter lens that this model dons does a great job when taking advantage of it. The greatest thing is when using the camera on high-resolution, because the 15.1 mega pixel sensor does its best work with EF 70-200 millimeter and similar lenses. You just cannot go wrong with this camera. There is no way!

If you forget about the technical details of this camera for a second, you will still appreciate the huge display it offers. You will find the Canon EOS Rebel T1i could not have done a better job featuring the 3-inch display screen. Another great thing about the screen is that the display is non-reflective and it produces crisp previews even in bright and dark conditions so you don’t have to worry about getting the right angles for your picture, and then still worry about the light, reflections, etc. You also have the option of adjusting the brightness of the screen so that it best suits the current session you are busy with.

“I was really waiting for an affordable full frame D-SLR to come out. However, this camera had great reviews, a great looking LCD screen, HD video and the latest DIGIC 4 image processor onboard. I do not regret that decision at all. This T1i is the kind of camera I have been dreaming about owning for the past 40 years. I bought the EF 70-200mm f/4 L IS USM and EF 85mm f/1.8 USM lenses and I am now taking photos I never dreamed I could shoot. You either love or hate the kit lens. I love it. For many situations it does an excellent job. Of the 3 lenses that I have, the kit lens is the most versatile for shooting HD video due to its wider FOV. If the kit lens is all you have, it will do an excellent job for you. The camera is a little light for my taste, but adding a vertical grip to the bottom gives a weight that is more hefty. The lens that comes with the camera kit is a basic intro lens that is image stabilized (IS), great for those without a steady hand or shooting action. The camera will work with a wide assortment of EF and EF-S lenses and several other Canon IS lenses, giving you options galore. The color reproduction is accurate and vibrant and low in noise with the new DIGIC 4 image processing chip.
